The invention relates to a device for ejecting a drone parachute by pyrotechnic cutter. It consists of a container (1) in which the parachute is introduced. This will be expelled by a piston (2) compressed by a spring (3) maintained by a textile strand (4) which will be cut by a pyrotechnic cutter (5) fed by a low power electrical signal. The ejection support (6) is integral and vents allow the decompression of the piston and the ejection of the pyrotechnic gases (7). The device according to the invention is particularly intended to equip lightweight flying machines requiring a safety device ensuring a return to earth with low energy through rapid ejection of a parachute.

The present invention relates to a device for ejecting a parachute for a drone characterized by decompressing a spring by means of a pyrotechnic cutter.
In an increasing number of countries, legislation requires drone operators to equip the drone with a parachute that returns to shore with a defined energy.
The ejection device must ensure fast ejection, thus providing sufficient energy while consuming the lowest possible electrical energy.
Such a device must therefore meet the following characteristics: - reduced weight; dissociation of the ejection force from the power required for triggering; - reliability; - no impact on the textile of the parachute and its lines; - modularity (folded parachute in container, pod).
The parachute is inserted in an ejection container. This will be ejected by a piston compressing a spring held by a textile strand of high strength and easily severable.
The textile strand passes through the severing hole of a pyrotechnic cutter (ignition trigger cut shear). The triggering of the pyrotechnic cutter is ensured a signal of very low power.

Figure 1 shows, in isometric view, the overall appearance of the device of invention.
Figure 2 shows, in section, the device of the invention.
With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a container (1) in which a movable piston (2) is compressed by a spring (3) at the bottom thereof. In this container is placed the parachute. Maintaining the compression is provided by a textile strand (4) stretched between a pin secured to the base and a pin secured to the piston. The ejection of the parachute is triggered by the cutting of the hanger by a pyrotechnic knife (5) inserted into an ejection device (6) consisting of a single molded or machined part ensuring its reliability and lightness and a cost reduced manufacturing.
The pyrotechnic knife is connected to a radio-controlled device or on a map analyzing flight conditions.
Vents (7) allow the decompression of the container during the rise of the piston as well as the ejection of the gases emitted by the pyrotechnic device. As a non-limiting example, the device shown, adapted to a drone with a weight between 2 and 4 kg, will have dimensions of 170 mm in height and 100 mm in diameter.
The device according to the invention is particularly suited to the equipment of drones or flying objects, in particular of low weight, for its simplicity, reliability and low manufacturing cost.

Device for ejection of a parachute for drone or light flying vehicles characterized in that it operates by decompression of a spring by means of a pyrotechnic cutter and comprising a container (1) in which is introduced the parachute which will be expelled by a piston (2) compressed by a spring (3) held by a textile strand (4) which will be cut the pyrotechnic cutter (5) inserted into an ejection carrier (6).

2. Device according to claim 1 in that the compression of the spring (3) is provided by a textile strand (4) easily sectionable allowing the use of a high stiffness spring.
